Taylor Swift was a victim of Kanye West’s theft, saved by Beyonce Knowles

Last night, the VMAs was about two persons.. and two persons only.

If you haven’t heard about these two, then you must be living in a cave. Taylor Swift video won the first award, as the Best Female Video over the much more senior Beyonce and much more eccentric Lady GaGa. She was shocked, went onstage, took the award, mic and started her acceptance speech. She said she dreamt about winning the award but never actually thought it would happen since she sang country music.

The same second, Kanye West showed up out of nowhere (his seat I guess, it might be too hot he couldn’t sit still) onstage, took the mic from Taylor Swift’s hand and said “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.” He gave the mic back to Taylor Swift who looked as though she felt defeated and was about to cry.

Everyone went bizerk. Especially the audience and in twitterverse. Including me, who couldn’t stop bad mouthing Kanye West last night on my twitter. The poop went down when the VMAs was only running for about twenty minutes.

It was a very bad behavior, Kanye! Not only you stole the moment, you killed the night when everyone was supposed to be talking about Kristen Stewart’s new haircut, newest trailer of New Moon and the tribute to Michael Jackson.Very disrespectful!

Beyonce is better than Taylor Swift? No! you can’t compare them. Beyonce is a diva, while I only heard Taylor Swift’s first single just last year. Video-wise.. I thought Lady GaGa should win. From the character to the lyrics to the video. Everything is interesting and always make people curious. But the VMAs is MTV’s show and surely they don’t choose winners randomly. There are requirements and this year “You Belong with Me” completed all of them more than the others in the Best Female Video category.

Kanye crushed Taylor’s dream? No! Taylor’s moment was just stolen. Her dream was not. She dreamt about getting the moonman. She got it.

Harry Allen on Twitter posted a screenshot of Kanye West’s online apology he wrote on his blog.

Being real? Sorry? Much Respect? BOGUS!

If Kanye West were happy for Taylor he would let her have her moment. A fan of real pop culture? No! He’s a fan of Beyonce! A ridiculously fanatic fan. Besides, it was just called “Best Female Video” and not “Best Pop Video” which was won by Britney Spears. What.. Kanye wants to steal it too? Too bad.. he can’t because Britney’s acceptance speech video was pre-recorded. Boooooo Kanye West Boooooo!!

And couldn’t he just wait for like 90 minutes? In the end Beyonce won the Video of the Year anyway. And because of Kanye West, Beyonce couldn’t give her acceptance speech because she HAD TO give “the moment” back to Taylor Swift. Too complicated to understand? Here we go, Kanye West is the thief, stole Taylor’s “moment” for Beyonce at the beginning of the show. Beyonce WAS EMBARASSED by it, she had to give the “moment” back to Taylor.

Kanye West has some issues. There should be school of manners for recording artist like Kanye West!!

I kinda thought last night was a conspiracy.. A dramatic entertainment for everyone. And how Taylor Swift is wearing the same color dress as Beyonce in the end. Regardless,

I mark last night VMAs as Taylor Swift’s VMAs. After the bitter reality, she came back bigger than ever in the New York subway singing her award-winning single. I am a fan for life.

Hayley Williams

In case you’ve never heard, Hayley Williams is the lead vocalist for the band Paramore, who got their big break filling in soundtrack for Twilight the movie. Hayley only 20 years old, and she got a great voice for a girl singing in a rock band. Not to mention she’s pretty too. I’m green with envy.

She somewhat reminds me of Emma Roberts, I think their eyes are kinda alike. Hayley Williams though has proven herself that she got what it takes to be big. I love her vibrant red hair, which is her trademark and her pale orange lipstick here – you know I’m a make-up junkie.

Thursday I’ll be able to see this girl rock! Listen to Paramore.. they’ve got great tracks.. watch out for the volume, they’re kinda loud.

Rest In Peace, Michael..

July 6, 2009 Ragil Mega 4 comments

Starting today, July 7th will mark the funeral of the King of Pop. True or not, we have less than 24 hours to see. Some things are certain, both private and public memorial for Michael Jackson will be held later today.

June 25th 2009, the first time I was told that Michael Jackson was dead, I was very sure it was a hoax, while I googled “Michael Jackson” at the same time. When I saw wikipedia’s highlight “Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer and businessman.”, I was stunned.. “this is happening”.

For a day, though still in shock, I was calm. I was on the internet for hours, finding out what happened. CNN was on, I was starving for more news. I listened to Michael Jackson’s songs. I still could not believe it. I fell asleep thinking about we had lost a legend, I woke up to another thought of him being dead.

The next few days I was accompanied by unstoppable tears when everything started to sink in. I watched people’s tribute, including the Philippine inmates on youtube, New Kids on the Block tribute during their concerts and BET Awards tribute where Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo sang “I’ll Be There”, more tears rolled down.

For 30 seconds I felt good when I read someone’s message “Michael Jackson is not dead, it’s just a stunt to promote his London gigs”. I wanted to believe it so bad that I did believe it. Then, I remember Jermaine Jackson’s speech where he said “My brother, the legendary King of Pop passed away..” the reality came back rushing in.

No words can describe our loss. Yet, we’re still trying to find the appropriate ones. The result is endless.

I am hoping that in less than 24 hours, Michael Jackson will finally be laid down to rest in peace. And we all will continue to celebrate his legacy. A tribute:

“All the songs you used to sing

The pretty world you pushed me in

The higher ground where I’m standing

I miss you, Michael..”

No Doubt

July 1, 2009 Ragil Mega 4 comments

I can’t listen to Michael Jackson anymore. This is a BS ’cause everytime I listen to anything else, I always end up going back to Jacko’s records – that make me miss him, mourn and weep.

I haven’t written anything yet about the loss, because it’s just indescribable. But I hope sooner than later I will.. and do a tribute for him as well.

So currently I am listening to No Doubt. I am buying a ticket for their concert in town but it’s still pending. I am crossing my fingers. It’s been awhile since I last went to a concert. And I’m dying to see fashion icon, Gwen Stefani, performing again. I saw her the first time as a Gwen Stefani alone, with Harajuku girls. Now it’s a whole different scene.. alternative and rock!!

Update: No Doubt, it’s on!!

Dilemma

Big tiiiimmmeee!!

This morning I was upset at my dear husband. Well, since last night actually. He told me I had to choose between NKOTB concert and Carrie Underwood concert. Blah!! How can I tell?

First of all, NKOTB was like my first first LOVE. I never had the chance to see their concerts ’cause I was practically so small. Then, came the news they splitted. Years gone by.. I hardly heard anything about them aside from Jordan’s and Joey’s solo. And without warning, they reunited and came with a new single at the beginning of this year. Then, they held concerts which I never thought would actually come to this town where I live.

I don’t need to say much about Carrie Underwood. I’m a country lover and she’s my favorite person from American Idol. She has the best vocal ever in the entire world IMO. Her songs are brilliant – I know all the words of all the songs in her two album. She’s my kind of girl. I don’t need any other reasons in my life why I want to go to her concert. It’s not I want to, I NEED to. I just simply love everything about her.

Dang nabbit! Why do these two cool concerts come in the same time? And Hubby, you are so.. so.. mean!!
